Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Set To Return In 2020

Mercedes-Benz is bringing back one of its most bold sports models for the first time since 2013 in the 2020 AMG GT Black Series. This version of the German auto maker’s high performing two-door coupe is being bred specifically for the track with a lighter frame, more power, and lower ground clearance.

Hiding underneath the hood of this highly coveted sports car that expertly bridges the gap between performance and luxury is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-L V8 engine that is rumored to have 700-HP. With this much power, the Mercedes AMG GT Black Series will rival the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, which currently holds the fastest track time at Nürburgring.

There have been a number of styling revisions to update the AMG GT Black Series including:

  • Bold front splitter
  • Dive plates
  • Vented bonnet
  • Rooted side skirts
  • Altered diffuser
  • Quad-tipped titanium exhaust system
  • Manually adjustable rear wing

While the interior of the traditional AMG GT coupe provides a comfortable cabin, the Black Series will feature bucket seats and a sport steering wheel. Although not yet confirmed at this time, Mercedes will most likely offer a full roll-cage, safety harness and fire extinguisher as add-ons.

The AMG GT Black Series will make a splash in a big way, and you don’t have to be rich or a car expert to appreciate the prowess of this fast-bred, high-performing machine. It is incredible to consider how far this coupe pushes the boundaries of what modern vehicles are capable of doing.

This performance is made even more impressive when you consider the bold styling choices that are outlined by an aggressive body and eye-catching rear wing that would make you think that the car is capable of lifting off from the road beneath it.

Models of the 2020 AMG GT Black Series are expected to be announced by the end of the year and eventually be made available for sale in 2020. However, this will be a limited release so there will only be a few worldwide that consumers will be able to buy.
