RAM 1500 Named “Luxury Vehicle Of The Year” By Cars.com

When most people think of the RAM 1500, they are most likely going to imagine a rugged pickup truck that is capable of getting the toughest jobs done. While this has been the modus operandi of RAM’s most popular model, the car-buying public might start thinking about this truck’s level of extravagance due to its most recent award.

Cars.com has named the 2020 RAM 1500 as the “Luxury Vehicle Of The Year,” the first truck to ever receive the honor. Typically, Cars.com gives the award to top-end luxury brands like Mercedes, Infiniti, Lexus, or BMW. As a true segment disrupter, RAM has surprised everyone, including the editorial staff at Cars.com.

But the truck manufacturer has remained confident in its ability to appeal to luxury car buyers for years.

“This award validates Ram’s unrelenting efforts to deliver more comfort, refinement and value to our customers,” said Reid Bigland, Head of RAM Branding. “The Ram 1500 Longhorn and Limited are examples of how we deliver the most luxurious pickups in the industry. It is immensely satisfying to have Cars.com recognize the Ram 1500 as Luxury Car of the Year.”

The editorial team at Cars.com has said that any vehicle, regardless of the brand name, is eligible to receive the honor of being the best luxury model. All that matters is that the particular model who wins has exceptional design, ride quality, features, and luxury appeal. While the RAM 1500 is certainly an unconventional choice, the 2020 model checked off all the boxes required to win.

“The 2020 RAM 1500 Longhorn and Limited trims stand out from the crowd thanks to their stunning interiors with premium wood, leather, metal and chrome finishes, an awe-inspiring multimedia system and outstanding ride quality,” said Jenni Newman, Editor-in-Chief of Cars.com. “The Ram 1500’s top trim levels are stunning and well-deserving of Cars.com’s ‘Luxury Vehicle Of The Year’ award.”

Some of the highlights that make the 2020 RAM 1500 so innovative include its Uconnect 4C with a 12-inch touchscreen, multifunction tailgate, cargo management system, and segment-exclusive link-coil rear suspension system. These are four of the many features that lead to a comfortable, confident drive that makes the driver and its passengers feel an elevated sense of affluence.

Whoever would have thought that a RAM pickup could be so refined?
