A new model for 2026, the Cadillac Vistiq is one of the latest electric vehicle offerings from General Motors. Able to seat up to seven passengers, the Vistiq allows you to pile friends and family inside. Napleton News is all about friends, even if you have to bribe them to be such. Hop in and buckle up.

First things first with the Cadillac Vistiq.

Our Cadillac Vistiq was the Premium Luxury version, which sits second from the top of all the Vistiq trim levels. Entry to the Vistiq lineup starts with the Vistiq Luxury, Vistiq Sport, our Premium Luxury and finally the Vistiq Platinum.

Our Cadillac Premium Luxury begins with power from a dual-motor all-wheel drive arrangement. This package delivers 615 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque and in Velocity Max mode lays down a 0-60 mph sprint in a very respectable 3.7 seconds. That’s not too shabby for a vehicle in the same size-range as the gas-powered Cadillac XT6. To top that off, the Vistiq has a range of 307 miles per charge.

Power for the Vistiq comes from General Motor’s Ultium Battery system. A standard air ride suspension adjusts the ride and an optional rear-wheel steering system shortens the turning radius of some corners. The Vistiq can tow up to 5,000 pounds but this ability also reduces the mileage range.

In our experience with the Vistiq, its charger was equipped with a 19.2 kW rating that could replenish the battery faster than the system found in the Chevrolet Equinox. Cadillac estimates that you can charge 80 miles in 10 minutes using a DC fast charging system. We didn’t have one of those at home but did notice a faster charging time than other EVs we have experienced when using the 120 volt home charging cable.

How does the Vistiq look?

The 2026 Cadillac VISTIQ Premium Luxury goes away.

Think of the Cadillac Escalade. Now, shrink that size in your head to a vehicle around two feet shorter. That would put you in the general vicinity of size. The iconic Cadillac Crest is here, this time with no grille work to speak of, because there is no radiator to keep an internal combustion engine cool.

The sides feature elegant sculpting that looks like it belongs. There’s a minimal amount of bling this time around. That makes it look far more grown up than we have become accustomed to with other electric vehicles. There is an interesting use of matrix-style designs at the rear of the Vistiq’s greenhouse. Digitally-inspired, it adds a bit of speed to the overall appearance!

How about inside this Caddy?

The first thing you notice when getting inside the Vistiq is the enormous expanse of display screen that stretches from the left of the driver to the center of the dashboard. Gently curved, it offers access to all the pertinent controls inside. The front seats acted as heated and cooled thrones that also came with a massage feature. It’s just the thing in the middle of winter, or the middle of summer, for that matter.

All the comforts are here too, including SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Onstar Super Cruise, wireless phone charging, a heated steering wheel and more. Speaking of steering, the Vistiq Premium Luxury model is equipped with active rear steering. This innovation allows you to squeeze in and out of tight spaces.

There are three rows in the Vistiq but if we had our druthers, we like the first or second row over the third. Just personal preferences, we guess!

Behind the wheel of the Cadillac Vistiq Premium Luxury.

At first glance, the Cadillac Vistiq appears like almost any other sport utility vehicle. From behind the wheel, it even feels like that. For a second. And when you step on the accelerator (Was going to say step on the gas, but you know.) it appears it is a regular SUV in every way. That is until the twin motors spool up like a slot car that speeds off instantly into the distance.

The drive is one of total luxury. Smooth, quiet and elegantly fast. Acceleration is precise and quick. Steering can be a bit vague but it is such that you can adapt to it. Ride quality is stellar thanks to the air-spring adaptive suspension. Adapting to road conditions as they occur, it never set us wrong and always kept things rolling smoothly.

The one thing we didn’t really test was the OnStar Super Cruise. It’s a great piece of technology but we tend to keep our hands hovering nearby. That creates muscle tension, which defeats the purpose of hands free driving in the first place.
