Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack Plus

What happens when you combine American Muscle with electric power? The Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack is the answer. Offering throw-back looks with modern electric power, it seems to be the best of both worlds, right? Buckle up, buttercup, as Napleton News checks out the Dodge Boy’s latest brute.

What is the new Charger Daytona Scat Pack?

All-new Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack

The new Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack is a throwback to the old Charger from the late 1960s with a shocking twist. (Shocking, get it?) While it looks like the classic Charger muscle car, it has the latest in electric vehicle technology, starting with an electric powertrain with motors on each axle. The two combine for all-wheel drive power delivery, from a 94-kWh battery pack. The package delivers 670 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. Those are nearly supercar numbers! The amazing thing is this is from an electric vehicle.

But not all is great in the corral. With a range of 241 miles, give or take a few, it will leave you on the side of the road if you run it hard. The upside is Dodge says that thanks to its fast charging architecture, you can charge it from 20 to 80 percent in just under thirty minutes. That’s respectable.

All the other good bits are here, too: Brembo brakes, a high-performance suspension, various drive modes including drift, donut (!), drag and track mode. There’s even a “Powershot” button that gives a brief (10 second) boost of 40 horsepower. It’s just the thing to pass those huge 18 wheelers on the highway, or to exercise your Daytona on a quiet backroad.

Looks matter, especially with American Muscle.

All-new Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack, the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car.

Looks matter in the world of muscle and with a legendary nameplate they matter even more. This car features a silhouette that gave the Charger its reputation. Using what we would call a Coke bottle design, it is a sleek look at the past showing a look to the future. For instance, notice the leading edge of the hood, with its wing-like structure spreading across the front. Adding frontal interest, it is functional, adding downforce, while perhaps trying to honor the look of the classic Daytona Charger of the late 1960s.

New for 2026 is a four-door body style that may be more practical for some buyers. What we do know is it looks better than the outgoing four-door models that we have become familiar with. We like the look of our two-door Scat Pack sample, though, which is more true to the original generation. If we didn’t know better, we’d think Dodge might be plotting a return to NASCAR, based on the vehicle’s profile alone.

Buying the Scat Pack model gets you upgrades that include 20-inch wheels, 10-way power front seats, fake leather and a head-up display.

What about inside the Charger?

The interior of the new Dodge Charger Scat Pack is good for seating you and three of your closest BFFs, but could hold a fourth in a pinch. It combines design cues from the past as well as the latest technologies. Key among these is a version of the legendary “pistol grip” shifter made famous by the Hurst shifter company. Sure, this one is an automatic, considering the transmission has a single gear.

Seating is comfortable, on the “Demonic Red Seats” with heated and ventilated surfaces that keep you cool or heated depending on the climate of the day. The back seat offers comfortable seating for two with good legroom. Adding practicality to this muscle car is the addition of a hatchback, which can take advantage of rear seats that fold forward. Oh, and there is a “frunk” up front for more storage, too.

The optional “frunk” area of the Dodge Charger Daytona offers an additional 1.5 ft cubic feet of storage.

Electronics hold full-sway here beginning with a 16-inch color driver display, and Uconnect 5 with a 12.3-inch infotainment display screen. Finally, the Dodge Charger Daytona entertains you with an Alpine 18-speaker premium audio system.

Behind the wheel of the Scat Pack.

Even though it’s electric, Dodge isn’t ready to let go of the excitement. That’s why a push of the starter button yields a loud growl from the “Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust” system. Yes, we don’t know what it is either but trust us, you’ll love it! Using chambers, vibrations, speakers and more, it makes a compelling case for “muscle love” even though it is artificially-manufactured by what amounts to a high-end audio system.

At first, you’ll hear a whirring noise like the starter motor spooling up. Then the growl for a couple of seconds before the drivetrain goes silent. At that point you are on your way. Driving can occur in a variety of ways. These include drag, track, sport, drift and donut (!) modes.

Handling the twisties challenges every bit of the adaptive suspension technology. We figure that’s what happens when you have the added weight of the batteries to consider. Still, the Charger Daytona has some stout moves in store that will make you forget about the added bulk.

Take, for example, the two Fast and Furious types cruising on a main drag in South Florida. They spent about seven minutes revving up for each other before deciding to give it a go. Mind you, we never advise anyone to step on it unless on the race track. But when they took off, the spousal unit, said, “Just go! I mashed the pedal and about three seconds later blew by them as though they were standing still.

The dropped-jaw look on their faces were priceless.

I've loved everything on wheels: Trains, Planes and definitely Automobiles. I am constantly in search of the latest in new technology, which makes our lives better each day, but will always respect the classics. You can't continue forward without first taking a look back at where you've been.
