The Nissan Z Nismo at night in Downtown Miami.
Track-ready and instantly iconic, the 2024 Nissan Z Nismo returns as the latest version of the new Nissan Z. Under an evening that began with a torrential downpour in downtown Miami, Nissan introduced the latest from the legendary Nismo tuning division. Once the reveal occurred, the clouds parted in time for a super moonrise. Napleton News was on hand to bring you the news of this latest chapter in the Nissan story.
The new 2024 Nissan Z Nismo is the track-ready variant of the standard Z but this time it has received a thorough going over. The result is a perfect vehicle for an enthusiast in search of a dose of exhilaration from what could be their daily driver.
The Z Nismo comes loaded with this:
Simply put, the Nismo division is the part of Nissan tasked with taking a standard Nissan vehicle and tuning it so it can achieve its highest potential. With the Z Nismo, the company has taken from the best of the Nissan Z Sport and Z Performance models and upgraded virtually every facet of the car’s performance.
The standard 3.0-liter 400 horsepower twin-turbo V6 found in the Z Sport and Z Performance models is here. Except this time, it has been beefed up to include an extra 20 ponies for 420 hp. Torque didn’t take a backseat either, and goes from 350 to 384 lb-ft of torque. The engine now includes a Nismo-enhanced oil cooler, a Nismo-specified 9-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and standard limited traction/slip function.
Not just another pretty face, the Z Nismo performs, too. Engineers got busy designing aerodynamic improvements for racetrack performance. As a result, the Z Nismo delivers more track-hugging downforce than before.
The front of the Z Nismo now features the “Grand Nose,” which extends farther forward than on other versions of the Z. It’s a design treatment reminiscent of the Nissan Fairlady 240ZG. Within this new nose is a thinner, more conductive intake that delivers cooling air to the engine bay. An air curtain type canard directs air over the wheels for improved aero. Finally, Nissan finishes the Z Nismo with 19-inch gloss black RAYS wheels.
The Z Nismo is available in several new hues of paint. These include Black Diamond Pearl, Brilliant Silver, Everest White Pearl TriCoat, Passion Red TriCoat and Nismo – exclusive Stealth Grey.
