Ram Truck News & Reviews

Have You Ever Wondered Who Is Responsible For Towing The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Floats?

Thanksgiving is a holiday that is best celebrated with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and doing your best to avoid uncomfortable political discussions with relatives.

But before we can celebrate the season of thanks around the dinner table while tip-toeing around the sensitive political climate of our country, we get to enjoy other traditions like football and the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Everybody loves to see giant inflatable turkeys, the Elf on the Shelf, and Chase from Paw Patrol sail down the street at larger than life heights but have you ever stopped to wonder who is responsible for towing those beloved characters?

As the official truck of the 93rd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, you have RAM to thank for making the parade possible.

That’s right. RAM trucks will tow all parade floats for the fifth consecutive year, but you wouldn’t know it because every truck used in the parade will be fully wrapped to complement the look and feel of the floats in tow.

“It is with great pride that the RAM truck brand celebrates five years of aligning with the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand. “This is truly a cultural moment and in this season of thanks, we are honored to be just a small part of the magic that happens as our full portfolio of award-winning trucks pulls these floats down the streets of Manhattan.”

RAM will provide a total of 65 trucks and ProMaster commercial vans to move the beloved characters down the street, but the 3.5 million spectators in New York City and more than 50 million television viewers nationwide will be none the wiser. That is, unless, you happened to take the time to learn who is responsible for doing all the heavy lifting without receiving any of the glory.

But that isn’t the modus operandi of the RAM brand, and any driver who owns one of the trucks will tell you that. These trucks are designed to get the job done well without adding any of the unnecessary fluff. It’s a proud brand that has consistently sold some of the most beloved pickups in the country.

“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the perfect event to bring back our fun and unique #RamWillTowThat campaign,” said Marissa Hunter, Head of Marketing, FCA – North America. “Partnering with some of the most iconic brands who participate in the parade allows us to creatively demonstrate to our fans on social media how the magic of the moment could not happen without the power of RAM trucks.”

The 93rd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will take place on Nov. 28 and it will air at 9 a.m. on NBC in all time zones across the country.
