First Look: 2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Special Edition

Toyota has released the first set of details about the 2021 Corolla Hatchback Special Edition Model. The new models will have a unique body kit, expressive styling, and will be dressed in a bold Supersonic Red paint. It’s the perfect marriage of flash and practicality, especially because you can ask for the Enhanced Cargo Space option for no additional cost.

A total of 1,500 of the Corolla Hatchback Special Edition models will be manufactured, and they are expected to be made available for sale at the end of the summer. Outside of its stunning appearance, the new models will also have the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of driver-assist technologies including the following:

  • Pre-Collision System with Daytime/Low-Light Vehicle and Pedestrian Detection, plus Daytime Bicyclist Detection
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (CVT only)
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
  • Automatic High Beams
  • Lane Tracing Assist (CVT only)
  • Road Sign Assist

Everybody knows that hatchbacks are about versatility but some drivers have shied away from these models primarily because of a conflict with the overall style. This new Corolla eliminates that hesitation in an instant when you get a look at the sleek defining lines, black-painted 18-inch alloy wheels, and striking exterior color.

Toyota made sure that the performance of the special edition model is equally impressive as the exterior design might indicate. These limited hatchbacks are equipped with a robust TNGA-C platform, responsive multi-link rear suspension, and a 168-horsepower 2.0-liter Dynamic Force Engine.

In the official press release about the Special Edition models, Toyota said the following:

“Combining high-revving energy with high efficiency, the 2.0-liter derives its gutsy personality and fuel-sipping behavior from a combination of a high compression ratio (13:1); Toyota D4-S fuel injection combining direct injection and secondary port injectors; high-speed combustion; VVT-iE intelligent variable valve-timing on the intake side, and VVT-i on the exhaust. VVT-iE uses an electric motor instead of oil pressure to control the variable valve timing.”

You can learn more about the availability of the 2021 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Special Edition model by getting in touch with the Ed Napleton Automotive Group’s two dealerships. The family-owned retail locations are meeting new customer demand by making their inventory available for sale online with the Accelerate America program.
