With the unofficial theme of “let’s try this again,” the 2022 New York International Auto Show will rise again following a one-year hiatus due to the Covid 19 pandemic in 2021. Organizers canceled the 2021 show because of concerns surrounding the Covid 19 Delta Variant. As things have calmed down, the show will again go on next week at the Javits Center in New York City.
Napleton News is sure there will be plenty of news beginning next week. In the meantime, some automakers have decided to tease Napleton News with some upcoming reveals. Here are just a few things we have to look forward to.
The 2023 Honda HR-V is just one of the new vehicles that will debut at the 2022 New York International Auto Show. Honda’s all-new and stylish second-generation compact SUV. The HR-V features a new, cleaner overall look, an expressive exterior, a longer hood, and a bold new grille. It rides on a platform that it shares with the 11th generation Honda Civic. It now features a longer wheelbase, wider stance and a larger profile than before. This Honda performs these functions perfectly while remaining sporty and personal. The new Honda HR-V is set to launch this summer and will include a more responsive engine and a new independent rear suspension.

The award-winning Kia Telluride returns in 2023 with a host of refreshed features. These include new headlamps and other refinements that will continue its unabated domination of midsize crossover utility vehicles. In addition to modified front LED lighting, the interior will take advantage of a new dashboard with a large screen stretching two-thirds of the cabin width. We haven’t seen it yet but are betting on it being comprised of a pair of side-by-side 12.3-inch display screens.
Kia has also announced an X-Pro off-road model to its lineup. That brings the Telluride lineup to five models, including the LX, EX, S, SX, and X-Pro models. The X-Pro will offer enhanced off-road capability over the standard Telluride. It continues with seating for seven or eight passengers depending on the configuration. Media reports state it should retain its 291 horsepower 3.8-liter V6 engine.
Not to be outdone by their cousins, Hyundai also revealed teaser photos of the new 2023 Telluride. It will feature new headlamps and a wider grille based on what we’ve seen. There are also new multi-spoke wheels and a more solid, premium appearance.
