ROAD READY WITH NAPLETON

Following the stay at home orders, now is the perfect time to service your vehicle at a Napleton Auto Group dealership. Your essential vehicle has probably been sitting idle for the better part of two months or more. During that time, fluids may have aged through lack of use, while your engine needs a quick check by the expert service technicians at each of our dealerships. Napleton.news has put together this brief guide on post-pandemic car preparation.

Keep reading to find out more about our services that get you back on the road with ease and the confidence that your vehicle is up to the task.

ESSENTIAL JOBS REQUIRE ESSENTIAL VEHICLES

We have so many things to worry about as a result of this pandemic. The condition of your vehicle shouldn’t be one of them. It’s obvious that during this “time-out,” many cars and trucks sat idle while you caught up on Tiger King or binged-watched all the episodes of the Real Housewives of Peoria. (Not really). Some of you (and us) even had to work. That’s why many car care needs should be performed before hitting the road again for the daily commute or especially if you have any sort of road trip planned.

Many basic car care needs can be performed at home, but if you are not a skilled shade tree mechanic, it is best to bring it to the experts at Napleton.

MULTIPOINT INSPECTION

Here, they can perform a Multipoint Inspection that can find out if you need any of the following:

  • Oil Changes: The lifeblood of your vehicle, motor oil helps to keep vital parts well-lubricated to prevent friction and increase mileage. It may need to be changed because of lack of use. Your service advisor can suggest the correct grade of regular or synthetic motor oil for your vehicle.
  • Tires are crucial and may have suffered from air loss while not being driven. This can lead to the development of flat spots because of underinflation from lack of use. Brakes will also be checked.
  • Rubber components may have deteriorated or dried out. Again, let us inspect them and replace them as needed. These can include pulley belts and rubber hoses under the hood as well as windshield wipers that help to keep your view of the road clear ahead.
  • Filters will be inspected and could be changed—this aids in removing debris that may have accumulated through the vehicle’s lack of use.

GETTING YOUR VEHICLE ROAD READY

During its time out of commission, it is smart to start it up to let it idle for a half-hour or so. During this time, it would also have been a good idea to make sure the fuel tank was topped off to guarantee no condensation would have occurred inside. Once you start the vehicle, check the driver’s instrument panel to make sure there are no illuminated warning lights. If you see a check engine light or another such warning, please remember to tell your service advisor.

Once you deliver your vehicle to the service department at your local Napleton Auto Group dealership, you can rest assured they are all using CDC prescribed precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. These include the use of gloves and masks as well as practicing social distancing.

DISINFECTED AND IT FEELS SO GOOD

A Napleton service technician disinfects a vehicle prior to returning it to a customer.

Following your vehicle’s servicing, your car will be spray-disinfected by a Napleton Auto Group technician to make sure it is cleaned and properly returned to you. It’s the Napleton difference, and it has been this way since 1931.

For more information, please contact the service department experts at the Napleton Auto Group dealership nearest you. We service all makes and models and will be happy to set up a service appointment for you today.
