German automaker BMW has once again collaborated with New York designer Ronnie Fieg to introduce the BMW i4 M50 by KITH special edition. It’s Fieg’s second design from his New York-based KITH brand. The mashup is ultra-exclusive in that only seven copies will be available for sale to the public. It joins a 1972 BMW 1602 Elektro that has been transformed into a contemporary electrified car. Napleton News thought of the 1602 as a suitable homage to the original, which was electrified for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.
A global auction will be held for the public to bid on one exclusive BMW by KITH. To commemorate the limited edition, KITH is selling a 51-piece collection of apparel, accessories and more. These designs are inspired by the exclusive KITH Vitality Green paint and Caramel Merino interior leather. The designs will be available in the KITH stores worldwide.
The 1972 BMW 1602 Elektro results from Ronnie Fieg’s passion for BMW automobiles. This unique vehicle was inspired by two BMW 1602 models that were used at the 1972 Olympic Munich Summer Games. They paced long-distance competitions as camera cars and support vehicles. So, if you want to get specific about it, BMW was dabbling in electric vehicles as long ago as 1972.
The new (old) 1972 BMW 1602 Elektro is a one-off model that BMW will gift to Fieg. His long-held passion for the brand has resulted in an impressive collection of BMW automobiles. These include the legendary BMW E30 M3 by KITH from his first BMW Collaboration. That passion was sparked by his grandfather. Fieg launched his KITH label in 2011. The collaboration with BMW began in 2020 with the BMW M4 Competition Coupe by Ronnie Fieg. This exclusive model was a great success. Customers around the world snapped up the 150 limited editions in less than 30 minutes.
Available in a new, exclusive color of KITH Vitality Green, the new BMW i4 M50 is a battery-electric vehicle (BEV). It features edition-specific logos with a green circle around the roundel. “KITH Exclusive Edition” embossing finishes the caramel-colored leather.
Dual BMW M eDrive motors power the KITH i4 M50. They are capable of producing 544 horsepower in Sport Boost Mode. Zero to 100 km/h comes on in 3.9 seconds and is capable of going nearly 323 miles on a charge.
