When we do, you can bet we will have a full report.

The 2023 BMW M2 goes away.

What’s the new BMW M2 all about?

The new 2023 BMW M2 is a pure sports car built with an imposing stance, broad shoulders and powerful proportions. It has a full length of 180.3-inches and rides on a 108.1-inch wheelbase. That’s 2.1-inches longer than the previous M2 and adding a bit of legroom in the process. The stance has increased as well, with the M2 now as wide as the larger BMW M4.

The 3.0-liter twinpower turbo M Power engine.

Power for the new M2 comes from a 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder engine that delivers 453-hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. It’s matched to a buyer’s choice of 6-speed manual or an M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic that offers several modes of driving, including a high-performance track mode. The 6-speed manual transmission features gears that are perfectly matched to the engine’s powerband. BMW claims 0-to-60 mph with the manual transmission in 4.1 seconds. The eight-speed automatic performs the same feat in 3.9 seconds. Top speed for the M2 is 155 mph, or 177 mph if equipped with the optional M Driver’s Package.

The new M2 includes M-specific chassis components that help keep a firm grip on the pavement below. Torsional stiffness is increased by connecting unique links to the strut towers, the nose and the bulkhead of the vehicle. Model specific C-pillar reinforcements stiffen the rear and help to keep the rear drive wheels firmly planted on the macadam. It rides on a staggered set of wheels with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear tires, respectively.

The new M2 is equipped with M-Compound brakes six-piston fixed-caliper brakes with 15-inch rotors in front and 14.6-inch discs in the rear. Blue painted brake calipers let outsiders know they’re dealing with something that’s out of the mainstream.

M Carbon bucket seats are available as part of the available Carbon Package. An optional electrically operated glass moonroof is now 20-percent larger than the previous version.

I've loved everything on wheels: Trains, Planes and definitely Automobiles. I am constantly in search of the latest in new technology, which makes our lives better each day, but will always respect the classics. You can't continue forward without first taking a look back at where you've been.
