“Cruisin’ the USA in your Chevrolet” will be the name of the game during Chevrolet’s virtual fan festival held the week of August 10-16, 2020. The week-long fan fest will celebrate more than a century of the company’s history. It will be hosted on the Chevrolet social media channels, including @twitter, @instagram, Pinterest and @TeamChevy. It will be the perfect way for viewers, Chevy Fans or both to take a look back in time at the brand’s rich history that is filled with so much innovation, design and passion. Napleton.news would normally be there in person except for this pandemic thing.
“Classic car events have served as a place for us to honor Chevrolet’s deep automotive history and its influence on our present and future with car enthusiasts from around the world,” said Steve Majoros, vice president of marketing for Chevrolet. “Cruisin’ the USA in your Chevrolet is a way for us to keep that spirit alive.”
The plans for the festival include a different theme each day, which will immerse the fans tuning in to virtual events that will include historic footage, trivia, guest appearances and more. Chevrolet experts will also be on hand to provide some in-depth looks and commentary on some of the brand’s most iconic vehicles.
The week begins with a visit back to 1911, when Louis Chevrolet founded Chevy with Billy Durant. Here, viewers can look over rare archival photos and videos from the past 109 years which will showcase memorable feats in Chevrolet history. Highlights will include technological breakthroughs for the brand, especially in the area of Chevy’s electric vehicles, its trucks and performance vehicles.
Even the shorties! Children can join in the fun by downloading specially-designed coloring pages, puzzles and other activities from the Chevy Design School.
Chevrolet fans can download a collectible 18 x 24-inch high-resolution printable poster that features a 1967 C10 CST pickup truck, a 1957 Corvette Convertible, 2020 Corvette C8.R and 2020 Camaro ZL1.
Chevrolet requests viewers to follow along on the Chevy Social Media channels on twitter, Instagram and Pinterest, as well as @TeamChevy on race day. Consumers are also urged to share their own fan photos using the hashtag #ChevyLove.
