The 2025 Honda Civic Sport Hybrid.
Refreshed for the new year, the 2025 Honda Civic will offer sportier styling and available hybrid-electric power. As a result, it can boast of improved fuel economy numbers. That’s a win at every turn. Let Napleton News unwrap this baby and take a look.
It has always been the starter drug into the Honda world. This new Civic is no different. It begins arriving in dealerships today, including Ed Napleton Honda in St. Peters, MO, Ed Napleton Honda in Oak Lawn, IL and Napleton’s River Oaks Honda in Lansing, IL. New this year is the Honda Civic Hybrid. Using inspiration from the 2022 North American Car of the Year, the new Civic is totally refreshed with enhanced styling, technology and available efficiency in the form of a new Hybrid powertrain.
Offered in sedan or hatchback versions, the company expects the Civic Hybrid to account for roughly 40% of Civic Sales. There will be four trim levels starting with LX, Sport, Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid. “The Honda has helped energize hybrid-electric sales in America and the new Honda Civic hybrid is a powerful and perfectly-timed addition to our popular electrified lineup that includes Accord hybrid, CR-V hybrid and the all-electric Prologue,” said Lance Woelfer, vice president of Auto Sales for American Honda Motor Co.
The Honda Civic LX and Sport models are powered by a 150 horsepower 2.0-liter front-wheel drive vehicle with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). But the engine you’ll really want is the 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid-electric engine with two electric motors that combine to make 200 horsepower. A driver-selective regenerative braking system helps top off the Hybrid battery. This package is like that found in the Honda Accord Hybrid and CR-V Hybrid.
At 200 hp, the Civic Hybrid matches the power from the performance-oriented Civic Si. That’s saying quite a lot, especially when you consider it also has a beefed up spring and damper system. That way, you’re guaranteed to love the driving dynamics from this vehicle.
Offering seating for five, the Civic Sedan and Hatchback bring a roomy rear seat to carry a pair of adults without any major grief. All models include heated seats, a dual-zone climate control and a sunroof. A storage bin is perfect for carrying a smartphone, glasses and phone cords if you still need them.
A 7.0-inch infotainment screen is standard, but a larger 9.0-inch model is on offer for those buying the Civic Hybrid. That means there is an upcharge for those two extra inches. Order that larger screen and you’ll get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other options include a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system and built-in navigation.
We haven’t had a chance to hop behind the wheel of what promises to be another best-seller from Honda. But you can bet we will be as soon as possible. Just wait! We’re coming back with more, ASAP. Then we’ll see if Honda is dreaming or really into the Power of Dreams.
