Sonata & Palisade Earn “Best Car Buy” Awards From Driving Today

Hyundai received a couple of gifts early this holiday season after the Sonata and Palisade each received Best Car Buy Awards from Driving Today.

The 2020 Sonata was named “Best Family Car” while its newest sibling, the 2020 Palisade, was donned “Best Family SUV” by the third-party automotive news source.

“We’re honored to receive Driving Today’s Best Buy Awards for the Sonata and Palisade,” said Scott Margason, director, product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “Both vehicles were specifically designed with families in mind and these awards serve as proof of Hyundai’s commitment to building a product lineup focused on making the time families spend together better.”

While these models have a lot going for it from a family perspective, there’s plenty to like about it from the driver’s point of view. The 2020 Sonata underwent serious design changes to appear more sporty while remaining one of the most dependable sedans on the road today.

It’s all good and well that the Sonata reinvented itself, but how about the first-ever Palisade? This three-row SUV made an immediate impact with consumers due to its spacious cabin, premium technology, and long list of amenities that make you look forward to taking a long road trip.

Every year, Driving Today sample vehicles across all brands and dedicates a team of automotive experts to make informed evaluations on which models are deserving of the “Best Car Buy” awards. All 2020 model-year vehicles that are available for sale in the United States are eligible to win.

The awards are focused on new and redesigned vehicles, as those vehicles typically offer the most advanced technology, which are judged on a number of factors that customers find most important, including safety, reliability, quality, comfort, convenience, economy, and cost to own, according to a press release from Hyundai.
