Jeep Releases Special Edition Models To Combat Winter

Jeep has announced new special edition models across their lineup of vehicles that are designed to combat the tumultuous driving conditions of winter. The “North Edition” models are equipped with 4×4 capability, winter performance tires, remote start, and heated seats and steering wheel.

“When winter weather hits, your Jeep SUV can be your best friend,” said Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA North America. “Every Jeep 4×4 is engineered to easily tackle winter, and our new North Editions add features and technology to make winter driving even more of a pleasure.”

According to a press release from FCA, the North Edition lineup is available for every model in Jeep’s lineup including the Wrangler, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and Gladiator. The Renegade North Edition, however, will not be available until March.

Standard features on Jeep North Edition models include:

  • All-weather Jeep 4×4 capability with brake lock differential, anti-lock brakes and traction control
  • All-season or all-terrain tires for severe snow conditions and winter traction performance
  • Heated seats and steering wheel
  • Remote start system
  • Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen with SiriusXM Travel Link Weather
  • All-weather floor mats to contain slush and snow
  • Power heated mirrors
  • Tow hooks
  • Jeep Trail Rated kit (tow strap, D-rings, carabiner, gloves, safety kit)

Customization has always been a big part of customer appeal for getting a Jeep. For example, Wrangler owners reach into the depths of their creativity to make their model stand out with features like a shark-mouth grille or custom paint job.

The North Edition lineup not only does all of the creative thinking for Jeep owners but provides a practical driving option to stay warm and get through hazardous road conditions throughout the coldest season of the year.

Jeep released a 30-second promotion to reassure the car-buying public that their vehicles are more than capable of taking on the worst winter conditions imaginable while throwing a bit of shade at crossover SUVs and four-door sedans. Take a look for yourself below.
