The Hot Wheels Legends Tour wasn’t going to let a little virus disrupt its annual search for the next legendary Hot Wheels vehicle. As a result, the Legends tour will be hitting the silicon highway for the very first time. Participants can click the links here to submit photos of their customized vehicles for a chance at having their customs made into actual Hot Wheels diecast models. We bet not many people can say that! Enter quickly by Wednesday, May 13, 2020, because only the first 500 entries will be considered.
Surely you remember the feeling you would get when opening that little Hot Wheels package for the first time. Follow that with drag races down yards of orange race track, starting from the dining room table and winding its way past the sofa, around the bend to the finish line. These “raceways” popped up in millions of living rooms across the country, where kids from the neighborhood would congregate to find who had the fastest vehicle. It was all for bragging rights, of course, but it’s an image that you likely still remember.
When we were younger, us kids at Napleton.news couldn’t stop thinking about these cars. That’s why we dabble with the real things each day when we come to work. It doesn’t get much better than that!
We know that when you hear the Hot Wheels name, it brings to mind outrageously mind-blowing miniature cars and trucks that you probably drew when you were kids and should have been studying instead. We get it. And so do the people at Hot Wheels. That’s why they are hosting the Hot Wheels Legends Tour
Continuing now through Wednesday, May 13, Hot Wheels fans around the globe can submit their custom cars for a chance to be featured during the virtual stop. Entries will be judged by Hot Wheels designers, automotive experts, motorsport drift pilot Colette Davis and members of the Hoonigan team.
The virtual tour will be live-streamed on the Hoonigan YouTube channel or Hot Wheels Facebook page, Saturday, May 16, at noon EST. The finalists will be displayed at the annual SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Auto Show in Las Vegas, where one lucky owner will have their car made into a Hot Wheels model.
The finalist in the Virtual tour stop will join other Legends Tour finalists from around the world at the SEMA Auto show this coming November for a chance to have their car immortalized as a Hot Wheels miniature diecast model. It’s the third year of this global search for the next fan-made custom car to be made into a custom Hot Wheels vehicle.
One of the event sponsors, American Honda, is bringing the Honda Super Tuner Legends Series to the virtual tour stop this Saturday. The stop will include select custom-tuned Honda vehicles, one of which will be named as a “Honda Super Tuner Finalist.” This winner will be named at the end of the Legends Tour.
Similar to all Legends Tour stops, the judges will consider creativity, authenticity and garage spirit when selecting finalists and winners.
