Rushing towards an electric future, Honda introduced the Honda Prologue Electrified SUV. While it is not the first electric vehicle built by the brand, it is the first EV designed at the Honda Design Studio in Los Angeles. The electric future’s so bright, Napleton News needs to wear shades!
The Honda Prologue Electrified SUV features a clean “Neo-Rugged” exterior with similar interior styling. It makes for an adventurous ride in both the city and during bouts of off-road entertainment. The Honda Design studio in Los Angeles penned the all new Prologue. It features a clean and simple design that combines a harmonious feel of natural elements both inside and out. The Prologue includes details like a panoramic roof and large 21-inch wheels for an extremely planted presence in the wild. It even includes a front fascia that has been influenced by the innovative “Honda e” EV model.
Like the original Ford Model T, which was available in one color (black), the Honda Prologue will be available in an exclusive North Shore Pearl exterior finish. The paint is a white pearl inspired by the “natural beauty and colors” of Lake Tahoe, California. At the rear, the Honda H-mark logo has been replaced by a newly stylized Honda brand name that signifies the modern, clean design of the new Prologue.
Dimensionally, the new Prologue positions itself just above the CR-V. By the numbers, the Prologue has a 121.8-inch wheelbase, and is eight inches longer and 5 inches wider than the 2023 Honda CR-V.
The Prologue will feature all-wheel drive and take direct aim at active lifestyle customers. It’s perfect for those wanting the capabilities of an SUV with the zero-emission benefits of a battery-electric vehicle. They expect many Prologue buyers to come from the ranks of CR-V Hybrid owners. Hybrid-electric customers are among the first to move into full-electric powertrain vehicles, Honda research has shown.
This BEV SUV is part of a joint development agreement with General Motors. It will ride on a platform jointly developed with GM, using a version of their new Ultium battery packs. These packs already power GM’s Chevy Blaze EV.
We don’t have all the details pertaining to powertrain or mileage range yet. We will keep our eyes out for those specifications and publish them when they become available.
