Nissan Recognized As 2020’s Most-Awarded Brand

A new study from J.D. Power revealed that Nissan is the most-awarded mass-market automotive brand for the 2020 calendar year. Nissan won in four distinct vehicle segments, which is more than any other top automaker in the world.

The J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) Study surveys drivers after three months of ownership. After doing so, these new vehicle owners provide feedback as it relates to the design, performance, safety, usability, comfort, and perceived quality.

In short, the APEAL Study gives an unfiltered review of new car models so the data collected from the survey is truthful and unbiased. And it just so happened that people have a lot of great things to say about Nissan’s new cars.

“Delighting our customers takes a combined effort in partnership with our dealers,” said Mike Colleran, senior vice president, U.S. Marketing and Sales, Nissan North America. “We’re quickly revamping our portfolio with vehicles that thrill in both design and performance, and our dealer partners are experts at matching them to customer needs, which equates to these great customer satisfaction results.”

The 2020 Sentra, Versa, Maxima, and Armada were all recognized by a wide pool of new drivers in the study. In fact, the ingenuity of Nissan is felt in all four models, which is why so many new-car shoppers seem to have these award-winning vehicles at the top of their wish lists.

“This was an extremely positive performance from Nissan as they are looking to reinvigorate their brand image,” said Dave Sargent, vice president of automotive quality at J.D. Power. “Eight of Nissan’s 10 ranked models scored better than their segment average, with four achieving Best in Segment. The automaker is performing very well in terms of delighting its customers when it comes to owning and driving Nissan vehicles.”

J.D. Power has been conducting the APEAL Study for 25 years now. It is widely accepted as the automotive industry’s best resource to see how drivers truly feel about their new vehicle purchase.
