THE 2021 NISSAN ROGUE: UPDATED AND NEW

The Nissan Rogue has been the brand’s best-seller for quite some time. The new 2021 Nissan Rogue plans to continue that streak. This modern mid-sized SUV is the first of five new models to be introduced and entering production this year. This 2021 model will go on sale in fall 2020.

The new Nissan Rogue becomes the latest member of the Nissan lineup to be redesigned. It joins the Altima, Sentra, Versa and Titan, which are all new this year.

THE 2021 NISSAN ROGUE IS FUN, EDGY AND ADVENTUROUS

The reimagined 2021 Nissan Rogue is a fresh take on a design that has become fun, edgy and adventurous. From the outside, the Rogue’s exterior is more athletic than ever before. It expands the edginess of familiar Nissan design elements like the floating roof and an evolved version of the V-motion grille. Unique U-shaped bodyside highlights join new headlight shapes for a more aggressive appearance. LED headlights with a wider field of view are standard on all new Rogue trim levels. New LED fog lights become standard on SL and Platinum grade models.  

The front fascia of the new Nissan Rogue includes “3D” tire deflectors in the lower front fascia and active grille shutters, which control airflow to the engine compartment. Underbody help to make the Rogue more slippery and are joined by air curtains that direct airflow from the front to the sides of the Rogue.

INTRODUCING THE 2021 NISSAN ROGUE’S “FAMILY HUB.”

With the new Rogue, Nissan has introduced the concept of the “Family Hub.” What’s a “Family Hub?” It’s an idea that provides convenience for other people in the car, regardless of where they may be sitting. One example is how the Rogue is now equipped with the latest Intelligent Key, which works with the rear doors as well. It’s a convenient idea that makes it easy to enter the second row. Push a button on the rear door handle rather than having to go into the front door to engage the rear door locks.

Stellar seating continues with Nissan’s Zero Gravity chairs, which now find their way into the back as well as the front seat. Leather seating is standard on Rogue SL, with semi-aniline leather-appointed seating standard on the Platinum trim level.

A new floating center console is part of the 2021 Nissan Rogue. Thanks to the fly by wire nature of the shift lever, it has made way for a new storage area below the main deck of the console.

PREMIUM LEVEL DRIVE DYNAMICS

Each new 2021 Rogue will include a standard 2.5-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine with the brand’s Direct Injection Gasoline system. Power is up by 11 ponies to 181 horsepower. Torque jumps up by six to 181 lb-ft. Other tricks include mirror bore coating, a variable displacement oil pump, an integrated exhaust manifold and a trick intake valve setup. It’s just the thing to increase power and reduce fuel consumption.

Steering and suspension duties go to the new rack-mounted electric power steering kit that is designed to minimize road corrections. Other new parts of the kit include a rigid mount system with six mounting points and new multi-link rear suspension.

Nissan says their Vehicle Motion Control system is a new technology that does what a human can’t. According to Chris Reed, Nissan Tech Center’s Senior VP for Research and Development, “the all-new Vehicle Motion Control predicts what a driver is trying to do by monitoring steering, acceleration and braking.

Working in conjunction with the available intelligent all-wheel-drive system and drive mode selector, the Vehicle Motion Control provides four-wheel individual control, even applying a single brake to smooth out a corner in much the same way torque vectoring would.

A WIDER MODEL LINEUP

The new Nissan Rogue lineup will be available in a wide variety of versions. They include the well-equipped S, SV and SL trim levels. For 2021, a new Platinum grade is added, featuring quilted semi-aniline leather-appointed seating, a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link and a Bose Premium audio system.

The new 2021 Nissan Rogue will be on sale at Napleton’s Nissan of St. Louis in fall 2020.
