PORSCHE BEHIND THE SCENES PROGRAM: TRACK YOUR NEW CAR

The Porsche Behind the Scenes function on their My Porsche platform helps owners track their new Porsche purchase the same way they can track a package from Amazon or Fed-Ex. Now you can answer the question, the next time you ask, “When will my new Porsche be ready?” Like the Carly Simon hit song, “Anticipation” implies, all that is good comes to those who wait. This Napleton.news writer is still waiting.

For some buyers, it can’t come soon enough.

DIRECT FROM ZUFFENHAUSEN

The online “My Porsche” platform will give customers a direct view of their new Porsche two-door 911 and 718 Cayman as it passes through various points on the assembly line in Zuffenhausen, Germany. Cameras have already been installed at two relevant stations, where they are linked to production software. More camera installations will follow, to give greater insight into what happens once the build order is put into effect. They eventually will all be accessed through the My Porsche portal and App for Porsche car owners. It’s here where they can select and bundle various offerings and services available for individual cars and their owners. From there, owners will follow their new Porsche sports car as it makes its way from Stuttgart to the United States.

PORSCHE MAKES IT AS PERSONAL AS POSSIBLE

“Buying a Porsche is a special moment and one that should be as personal as possible, recognizing that placing the order and awaiting its delivery is part of the experience as anticipation builds,” said Klaus Zellmer, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America (PCNA). “This service gives future owners a convenient way of staying up to date before they see their car for the first time here in the U.S.”

New customers will receive a Porsche Behind The Scenes link after completing their order. Here they can track the vehicle through 14 milestone events, including order creation, production updates, vessel departure from Germany, port arrival in the U.S. and more.

I've loved everything on wheels: Trains, Planes and definitely Automobiles. I am constantly in search of the latest in new technology, which makes our lives better each day, but will always respect the classics. You can't continue forward without first taking a look back at where you've been.
